Mobile diagnostic questions
How much does a mobile car diagnostic cost?
The diagnostic fee is $95. It covers the time, tools, and expertise it takes to find the problem, and it’s due when the diagnosis is done. If we do the repair the same day, half of the fee is credited toward the cost of the repair.
The parts store read my code for free. Why pay for a diagnostic?
A code tells you which system reported a problem, not which part failed. We test to find the actual cause, so you don’t pay for parts you didn’t need. If you’d rather we do a repair based on someone else’s diagnosis, we can, but we can’t guarantee it will fix the problem.
Is it safe to drive with the check engine light on?
If the light is steady and the vehicle drives normally, it’s usually fine for a short time, but get it checked soon. If the light is flashing, or the vehicle is shaking, overheating, or losing power, pull over when it’s safe and call us.
Do you inspect a used car where the seller has it?
Yes. We come to wherever the vehicle is parked and check it over before you hand over any money. A pre-purchase inspection is $150.
